The Room 217 Foundation has seen a growing need for more skill-based education programming. Caregivers want more chances to learn music care skills, and to apply these principles in their work. The Music Care Certificate Program will train caregivers of all kinds to be confident, skilled and informed deliverers of music care.
This 3-level program prepares caregivers to use music in their care practice with increased confidence & theoretical understanding. It is suitable for allied health care providers, family & volunteer caregivers, musicians, teachers and any other community stakeholders who would like to increase their knowledge /practical applications of music in care.
Level 1 will prepare you to:
- Understand the basic principles of music in care
- Gain confidence using specific music care techniques
- Develop a strategic plan for a music care program in your practice
- No prior musical experience or health-sector experience is required for Level 1.
