Advancing Interdisciplinary Research in Singing (AIRS), University of Prince Edward Island

The University of Prince Edward Island is the home of an international collaborative research effort known as Advancing Research in Singing (AIRS). This virtual research environment was created in 2008 with the support of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council. Together,  65 scholars in the humanities and social sciences are "integrating new multidisciplinary knowledge about singing from the perspectives of psychology, music, linguistics, sociology, anthropology, and education, assisted by computer science and audio engineering." Included in their three research themes are the connections between singing and individual and community well-being.
